Ayman Kaake
Ayman Kaake

Fire Escape meets Ayman Kaake.

Ayman born in Tripoli, Lebanon, based in Australia since 2011 in pursuit of studying visual arts. This telecomunications enginer and cinematography designer left behind his parents and eleven siblings as he sat off on his artistic journey.

In 2014, the passion for cinema and photography eventually developed into a body of digital art works, creating images that delve into the dream like world of personal experiences, emotional turmoil, and the complexities of isolation that came from starting a new life in a new country. Although dealing with moving and serious emotions, his artworks are almost hopeful, and he believes that ‘sometimes imagination is better than reality’.

Tonia is the creator of GoGo Zine, a 16 page fully illustrated mini mag for kids and zine collectors.

Andree van Schaik
Andrée van Schaik

Fire Escape meets Andree van Schaik

Andrée van Schaik is an artist who lives and works in Melbourne where she has been painting, drawing, writing and composing music since the mid 1990’s. Her paintings are a marker of where she is, and has been, at certain emotional points in time. Expressed through rearranged found imagery, her work seeks to echo the lightness, depth, and strange infinity of her world.

Kate Lambe
'Game Over 2020' Kate Lambe 2021

Fire Escape meets Kate Lambe.

Kate Lambe is a Melbourne based artist originally from Ireland. She studied Visual Communications , Photography and Visual Arts.  Her practice encompasses lettering, shapes and symbols in an abstract manner that deliver messages of personal, social or political capacity, or to comment on current issues. Drawing from her experience as a graphic designer, she begins working on paper before refining and resolving the composition on computer. This imagery is then finally realised in acrylic paint as a tangible form. She works in a very precise way, using a large variety of tapes and tools to produce definitive, unambiguous lines that result in hard edge abstraction.

Anna Révész
Anna Révész

Fire Escape meets Anna Révész.

Anna Révész is an emerging, Adelaide-based artist working across several mediums, with a particular interest in photography and the opportunities it presents to capture, relive or totally reinvent moments in time. Révész explores the interchange between past and present moments and attempts to navigate spaces of instability and uncertainty. Utilising both digital and analogue photography, as well as sculpture, painting and drawing, she explores ideas of memory and how it is created, sustained or reconstructed. Révész allows room in her works for contemplation and reflection – a slowing down of pace that becomes an antidote to the fast-paced nature of modern existence. She complete her arts studies a few years ago.
