My Fire is a metaphorical representation of the passion Anna experiences while working with Fire Escape Contemporary Art. It captures the ongoing excitement of discovering new artists and creative spaces, building artistic partnerships, curating artworks for the gallery, and developing new projects, ideas, and knowledge—all while continuously nurturing a thriving art community.

It also reflects a year of conceptual curatorship alongside the artists of The Escape. After months of working one-on-one with each artist—refining statements, ideas, and concepts, and supporting their diverse disciplines—this journey became a collaborative exploration of critical thinking and artistic expression, all connected by the central idea of the fire escape.

From transporting artworks from Europe to Australia to searching for the perfect space to showcase the collection, this process has been a metaphorical quest. The light at the end symbolizes the completion of this stage. My Fire
encapsulates the feeling of this journey—The Escape arriving in Melbourne. With the exhibition at Linden, one side of The Escape has found its resolution.
