Spanish Figurative Painter. Based in Madrid since 2007, Grahovsky has honed his practice under the guidance of Luisa Pallarés, Nathaniel Evans, Eloy Morales, and Alejandro Carpintero. His work has been exhibited internationally since 2012, with shows in Madrid, Alicante, Barcelona, London, and Melbourne. His artistic practice revolves around the pursuit of perfection, emphasizing technique and style while exploring the interplay between color, texture, and material. This relationship forms the foundation of his approach, leading to a reimagined conception of contemporary painting.
Grahovsky’s evolution in pictorial style has been remarkable, marked by a consistent focus on narrative detail. His works capture unique moments, from the surreal stillness of chewing gum to subconscious elements interwoven into the simplest human actions.
The characters and symbols inhabiting these compositions carry profound emotional weight. Their seemingly ordinary actions reflect universal themes of love, desire, redemption, and sacrifice, making each work a compelling exploration of the human experience.
In his latest phase, Grahovsky invites us into a dreamlike and symbolic universe. His scenes unfold much like those in Hieronymus Bosch’s iconic Garden of Earthly Delights, immersing the viewer in pictorial spaces rich with life, drama, and mystery. Reminiscent of the grandeur of historic altarpieces—such as the Ghent Altarpiece by the Van Eyck brothers—each painting serves as a fragmented narrative, blending reality and myth.
His last art collection is called “El beso que lo cambió todo” (The kiss that changed everything). A reflection on the human condition, where every small act — a kiss, a dance, a prayer — has the power to alter the course of history, even if only within the intimate sphere of those who live it. Just like the great altarpieces of the past, this exhibition confronts us with the fragility and transcendence of the moment.
